Objectives of the Society
To develop and disseminate knowledge of meteorology and related oceanic, hydrologic and geographic sciences (hereinafter referred to as "Meteorology")
To promote and advance the professional application of Meteorology
To encourage collaboration amongst Members of the Society, individuals, bodies both corporate and non-corporate who may share the Society's interest in Meteorology
To promote among the public an understanding of weather and an appreciation of the value of Meteorology and its applications
Activities of the Society
Research Forums
Specially organized seminars on a selection of topics in Meteorology with paper presentations and discussion by academic researchers as well as practicing meteorologists
Society Lectures
Irregular lectures, mainly by eminent visiting scientists, on the latest research and studies in the field of Meteorology
Public Lecture Series and Meteorology Course Series
Popular lectures and short meteorology courses for the public, usually conducted in conjunction with other local institutions
Visits and Field Trips
Visits and trips to meteorological and other geophysical facilities in Hong Kong
Non-members are always welcome to attend Society functions.

Open to a Meteorologist or scholar with research experience in Meteorology resident in Hong Kong

Open to a Meteorologist or scholar with research experience in Meteorology resident outside of Hong Kong
Associate Membership
Open to any person interested in Meteorology
Student Member
Open to any student (undergraduate or graduate taking post-graduate degrees or diplomas in any of the universities or post-secondary colleges in Hong Kong, or secondary school student in Form 5 or above) interested in Meteorology
Institutional Membership
Open to professional, academic or educational institutions in Hong Kong, or any unit or department of such an institution, interested in Meteorology
Honorary Membership
  Open to any person or institution with distinguished work in Meteorology or significant contributions to the Society (such membership is bestowed by the Society and is not open to application)
